More than the minimum:

Post something on the web that reflects well on you - when a college Googles you, what will they find? By implication, this means going public and contributing to the web in a meaningful way that encourages people outside of Kinkaid to see the posted product and, perhaps, to comment on it. Submitting a paper to moodle, dropping it in your Sites folder, or making a VoiceThread and hoping somebody will find it by accident isn't enough.

Examples:

  • A student posts his original story online at a site (like Writer's cafe) that encourages submission and peer review of student writing
  • A student posts a video project he did to YouTube and promotes it via Facebook to get viewers and feedback
  • A student constructs a multipage website for a charity.
  • A student creates a series of "how to" tutorials on a topic of interest and posts them to a blog. (?)
